One of the earliest examples with tiny boot button eyes (4mm), jointed head, arms and legs. She has tufty, stone-coloured mohair hair and a non-original vintage dress. 11 or 28cm tall. Margarete Steiff originally made soft toys, usually from felt and later mohair. Her jointed animals became hugely popular and she branched out into doll making, at first with dolls like this with boot button eyes and later with small blue glass eyes (see my other listing).
