RARE Pair Meiji Early Japanese Gold /Silver Wire Cloisonne Enamel Vases -Geishas
RARE Fine Pair Meiji Early Japanese Silver Wire Cloisonne Enamel Vases -Geishas. A very beautiful antique Rare Pair Early Meiji cloisonne vases. The plentiful colors are brilliant and gold and silver wire detail is outstanding. The ground color is uncommon and beautiful. I would call it a yellow-green, if that helps. These vases are very, very old, exhibit very high standard of fine Japanese hand craftsmanship. From the early, early Meiji Period, the cloison detail work in gold an silver wire was certainly performed by a master of Japanese cloisonne. These antique vases are in excellent original condition. No evidence of trauma, but some hairline cracks can be seen in photos. I believe these are from age or the period made. Some normal wear to base. Vases display very beautifully. The recurring white spot is flash off high gloss finish. These may not be shiny and perfect like the newer ones, but these are the’real deal’, if you like very old, original pieces. And they are beautiful. Approximate size is 6 tall. Please see photos as an integral part of this description. Sometimes the camera catches what I don’t. Please ask any questions. From my own personal collection, these fine vases would be an excellent addition to your own cloisonne collection. All reasonable offers considered. Please check my other auctions. I pack very promptly and securely. The item “RARE Pair Meiji Early Japanese Gold /Silver Wire Cloisonne Enamel Vases -Geishas” is in sale since Saturday, September 14, 2019. I have more photos if you need or If there is an area of the coat you would like a picture of please be as specific as you can and I will do my best to get it. This coat has been in our Family as long as I can remember beyond that I do not know. I have chosen the 60’s time frame because that is when I was first old enough to see it. All the family members with possible knowledge about it have passed away. I could do a bit of guessing that my Grandparents traveled a lot for work and brought back really great things from all over the world including here in the USA. It is highly possible this was a gift from someone or they had it made. I never remember seeing anyone ever wear it. Some have referred to this coat as a Hippie Coat. I can tell by looking at the coat it is handmade. The only areas I question are the pockets & clasps. Which you can just see the white in picture 9. There are two pockets and the inside white parts are both machine made. However I do not know if those are replaced. The material reminds me of a very heavy cheese cloth. Pockets to this coat are original in design. The Buttons or clasps— interesting again, they are metal and I do not think original. Maybe they are but strange I would not have thought the maker would have used these. They are a shiny brass looking loop style clasp. If you were to change anything about this coat I would change that. I could not find anything on the other side that would hook to this. There are two of these clasps. I have a photo or two of these as well if you like. There is a few threads of embroider that are loose or are white instead of black. The seams and pelt stitching’s are all tight and holding very well. The left shoulder has some wear or maybe the pelt just looks a tiny bit different. (I have a photo to send to you if you want) Look at photo #9 again. That is the inside of the coat. Photo 11 shows you how long the fur is, I have some more photos of this as well, the inside fur is fantastic!!!! And tons of it. Photo 12 is a picture of the inside sleeve. Just to show that the fur has changed and to show some of the hand stitching (I have more photos of this too). The coat is beautifully done and the wonderful embroidery is outstanding. I have close up photos of the embroidery for you as well. The back of the coat is so unique. My dress form is not much of a model but the back has continued embroidery in random patterns that gives a bit of an Indian flair to the coat. I can’t think of anything else to complain about or explain. No complaint, it smells like fur!!!!!!! This is truly a well-made and well preserved coat!!!!!!! You better be in cold weather to wear it or you will burn up!!!! From Shoulder seam to shoulder seam it is approx. From collar to the edge of the fur near the floor it is Approx. 50in long From shoulder seam to cuff is Approx. 23in From inside the coat measuring from one side to the other approx. 43-44in Please let me know if you need measurements of other parts. I called it a Medium. I think the coat would look outstanding with high heeled boots and out to dinner as much as it would look great with mug lugs in the snow. I think the coat fastens high enough up that you could straddle a horse and ride comfortably while still keeping one or both fastened. It does not have a back opening like a duster but it does have some flare to the bottom of the coat. The embroidery across the upper shoulder is outstanding and not enough photo space for all the things I wanted to send to you. Please ask for more if interested. I was calling it Buffalo and had some input and now More specific to the Bison Group it is YAK the longer haired version of the family. This is a positive verification by a Buffalo farm and is the best match of Fur. I researched this item for days before listing it. I certainly do not intend to misrepresent this item. If anyone has further information on this item I welcome all input and will add this to my listing or make statement changes. You may look over the coat and if not satisfied that it is all that was told to you, you may return it at your own cost. “Rare – Interesting Piece of Phonograph History” ANTIQUE: EARLY 5 CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH UNMARKED – Brass Metal Top Piece was found attached as seen in photo and WAS TREADLE POWERED at the time of discovery. You are getting an antique unmarked early 5 cylinder phonograph (not complete, as I have been told) – that was treadle powered from the late 1800’s. Termites destroyed the table top that the phonograph was sitting on (see actual photos – showing the wood table top that was there before it had to be removed). It was part of a huge antique find in Polk County, Florida recently that was caught up in legalities between two deceased antique collectors for a couple of decades or more. Please look over all the photos as they are part of the description. The piece is untampered with and just the way we found it. NOTE: This paragraph may have nothing to do with this item:This is one of the early dictating machines/phonographs of the 1870’s – 1890’s. Not sure what company or person was behind this one since it is unmarked… Edison, Bell, Tainter, Bell? The dictating machines of this time period used tin, foil and wax over the cylinders. Some were also known as shavers, Volta, Dictaphones, or Graphophones. Tainter was the first, I believe, to put the phonograph on a sewing machine base and use the treadle to power the phonograph cylinder. This listing is for the top unit only – not the treadle base/sewing machine base that you see in the photos. You will get the item just as you see it in the photo (top phonograph part only). >the phonograph approximate dimensions: 18-1/2″W x 8-1/2″D x 9-1/2H (brass type metal). The base with treadle is NOT included. Table top is NOT included. Non-working phonograph at this time.
