Rare Early 17th Century Oak Refectory Table with later elements namely being the repairs to the feet. The frieze rails carved with a scrolling strap work serpent design joined by carved cup and cover legs & box stretcher. Original top lighter in colour due to sunlight. Condition: Apart from treating it for woodworm and giving it a thoroughly good wax it is as found. Age related knocks, bumps, period repairs to feet, legs/feet have been tipped, historic woodworm damage, all the right signs of the age. However it is structurally sound there is no movement in any of the joints. The top lifts off. 186 cm long 72cm high.
