Kellogg Grabaphone Early Rare Dial Cradle Restored Antique Telephone Circa 1920
August 29, 2019
Rare Kellogg Switchboard & Supply Co very early dial desk cradle telephone. This was the earliest dial desk cradle telephone built in this country. It was inspired by French design. The handset, cradle and dial have been newly re plated with nickel just like it was originally. The body was blasted, primed and painted with several coats of automotive spray lacquer. The telephone is connected to a Kellogg wood subset (ringer box) with exposed nickel bells. The subset can be on desk or mounted on wall. The cloth cords are new. The modular line cord can be plugged into a modern outlet found in most all homes. Most Grab-A-Phones were non dial and produced in large numbers. Few dial types were produced. Kellogg quickly switched to simpler and much less expensive cradle phones. I rarely find one of these and the restoration is quite tedious and time consuming. The results are outstanding. OTHER & INTERNATIONAL QUOTED OR ON INVOICE. DOUBLE BOXED, VERY WELL PACKED IN NEW CARTONS AND INSURED. VIEW MY MANY OTHER TELEPHONES AND ASK QUESTIONS BY CLICKING ON THIS PAGE.
