Extremely rare early black mohair teddy bear c1910

Mr Blackwatch is a wonderful very rare German antique black mohair teddy bear measuring approx 18 c1912 This lovely old boy has around 65% of his short pile black mohair remaining with his black shoe button eyes and black stitched nose, there’s a very old repair of dark blue felt under one of his shoe button eyes, there are a few small repairs here and there nothing serious you would expect from a bear especially having black mohair. His paws and pads have been professionally recovered with high quality wool felt the originals or what is left of them are still underneath. Mr Blackwatch is stuffed with wood wool with a slightly slumpy head where the wood wool has broken down over the years. Black bears were especially popular and bought as memorial bears when the Titanic sank. These were made by several prominent companies!
