This is a low seated Ercol Windsor Fireside chair in the “Cowhorn” style so called due to the curved arms. An early version with only seven spindles. The press studs are present under the seat so that cushions can be attached. The later versions have nine spindles with a higher seat. The Blue Ercol label “Made in England” is present. The chair has been stripped and fully re-polished with a hard wearing lacquer. It is sturdy with no loose joints or spindles. See our other listing for a second chair. He uses plenty of blankets and straps to look after your item. He works alone so would need help unloading if the item is large or heavy. We can arrange a two man service if required. We use state-of-the-art water borne lacquers as used by manufacturers. They have been certified to FIRA Standard 6250 for surfaces in heavy/severe use and are superior to any oil or wax. The finishing process we have developed maintains the timber’s colour and warmth and enhances figure, grain definition and chatoyance. On Antiques we use traditional French polishing methods.
