Rare Grenier Dark Oxblood 9 Tornado Antique German Handmade Marble Early 27/32′

An Antique German Handmade Oxblood Tornado’Grenier’ Marble. This very collectible and interesting early antique marble was hand made between 1850 and 1860. It is among the earliest type of handmade German glass marbles, from an important and formative period in history of marble making. Grenier’ marbles are consequently highly sought after by collectors and marble historians alike. They are now known as known as’transitional’ marbles due to being produced during a short period of time in Thuringa, Germany; before the cane and rod types. They were handmade by the Grenier family using a hand-gathered technique of swirling and forming the marble; in this case this has created an embryonic floating form within, surrounded by tornado-style swirl-and-tail patterns with a perfect’9′ in generous helping of very dark cochineal oxblood from tip to tail. With whiplash lines and creamy white, in a translucent, galactic base. It is finished with a finely crafted single ground faceted pontil, in the manner of all Greniers; and remains true to type with the muted, sophiticated colours, and beautiful, spontaneous abstraction of design. A real collector’s marble. Size: 21.5mm or 0.84” or 27/32” inch. Condition: In very good condition for it’s age, this marble has a chip near the pontil and a patch of pitting. The wear is all upon one side only; as can be clearly seen in the pictures and video. The slightly textured appearence is a hallmark of this type. Extremely Rare Pink Frosted and Clear Draped Lady Figurine in a Buffalo and Indian Hunt Cambridge Float Bowl 1920s / 1930s. The float bowl is very rare and scarce. It is the Cambridge Buffalo and Indian Hunt bowl with a Draped Lady Figurine. There are large Buffalos in the bowl and there are Indians riding horses with bows and arrows chasing the Buffalos. The bowl is a darkish pink. The inside of the bowl is clear and the back of the bowl is frosted. The Buffalos, Indians and Horses are all protruding out of the acid etched bowl. This bowl is a great example of Cambridge Glass featuring American History. There are no chips, cracks or repairs in the bowl or on the 3 feet that the bowl sits on. The large round bowl. The bowl is deep, it comes up high and then scoops down to an inch (2.5cm) from the table where the rim of the bowl ends. This is an extremely rare large heavy pink frosted and clear art deco float bowl. It is so rare it would be a good investment for a collector to add to their collection. This type of bowl is very rarely seen, it is extremely heavy. This float bowl is nearly 100 years old and was made in-between the two World Wars. The Draped Lady Figurine is very large and heavy glass. The Lady is naked with a drape around her, she has 2 rolled hair buns, one on each side of her head. The figurine is 13 & 1/4 inches or 33.5cm high. The flower frog is 5 inches or 12.5cm in diameter and 3 inches or 7.5cm high. The bottom of the flower frog has lovely beading running down the sides of the frog. There are no chips, cracks or repairs in the figurine so both pieces are in excellent condition for their age. There is the odd air bubble in the glass, but this is not damage, air bubbles are typical of the glass manufacturing process from this Era. Have a look at all the photos to see the lovely colour and condition. I know what it is like to get broken items and feel bitterly disappointed when they are not wrapped properly. Rare Achille Van de Voorde’Flemish Lace Worker’ Glazed Pottery Figurine c1920. Featuring a female lace worker folk figure in traditional costume working at a bench and glazed in deep blue, cream and treacle colours. One corner of the base of the figurine has been broken and reglued. There is a further chip to the bottom of the base and a manufacturing? Crack to the spindle of the chair. There is also some age-related crazing to the glaze. Otherwise in excellent condition with no other chips or cracks. Please see pictures for more information. Van de Voorde’s pottery was founded in 1913 in Bruges. He graduated as a primus from both the Bruges and Antwerp Art Academy. In Bruges he was taught by Gustaaf Pickery, among others, in whose sculpture studio he worked for a few years. He specialized primarily in the production of figurative pottery and from 1908 he brought glazed pottery figures to the market, baked in the Bruges pottery “Den Uil” by Joseph Van Iseghem. The world wars had a major impact on their company, which unfortunately was closed in the late 1930s at the time of the European unrest in the Second World War. They are known for 114 documented figures with great realism, beautiful sculptures and details, as well as their characteristic deep rich blue glaze. Ultra Clear White Crystal Stueben Glass. Buddha Kwan Yin Figurine 1920/30s. This ultra rare heavy clear White Crystal Kwan Yin. The figurine is standing up with a hair bun in the middle of the top of its head. It is wearing a long robe. The black stand in some of the photos is included with the figurine. Stueben glass was made in the United States in the early 1900’s. See the Dimitroff Steuben book. For an example of this piece. Kwan Yin in clear White Crystal is very rare. This Kwan Yin figurine is in good condition with only one small chip on the very bottom of the figurine where the robe ends. It is hard to notice, I had to really look to find it. It would be lovely in anyone’s collection who loves rare figurines or centre pieces. It does have seams. And mold lines and air bubbles in the glass but it is not damage. There is a metal band going around the base of the figurine below its feet and above the peg on the bottom. The figurine is 10 inches. Is 2.5 inches or 6.5cm across. It is 11 & 3/8 inches or 29cms tall on the stand. The figurine is very heavy and solid. The Kwan Yin is very scarce and very hard to find in any colour, you do not see them on auctions anymore. This rare Kwan Yin has been in my collection for a long time, but now someone else can enjoy this lovely figurine in their collection. Ultra Rare Amber 2 Bun Geisha Lady Cambridge Glass American History Depression Glass. This is an ultra rare large heavy Amber clear 2 Bun Geisha made by the Cambridge Glass company in the United States. This Geisha is absolutely gorgeous in this condition, Cambridge Glass at its best. The black stand in some of the photos was for display only and is not for sale, but you can get a stand for yourself if you like. The figurine is a Geisha with 2 Buns in her hair one on each side. She is holding what looks like a flower in her left hand and another flower on her right arm. The Geisha is 10 inches. The base of the Geisha is. 2 & 3/4 inches. The figurine is very heavy and solid. The Geisha is in very good condition with no cracks or chips, but there is a tiny fissure in the bottom, which I have mention for accuracy. The Geisha is very scarce and very hard to find in any colour, you do not see them on auctions anymore. This rare Geisha has been in my collection for a long time, but now some one else can enjoy this lovely amber figurine in their collection.
