Antique rare Early 19TH Century CHINESE GILT SILVER FILIGREE ENAMEL BRISE FAN

Hello and welcome to. Depicted in vivid enamel colors. If you think differently or have something else to add to improve my description I would be very happy to hear from you. It has 26 sticks in total. As observed one stick is slightly bent, deformated. And is about to break at the bottom. Side is already broken shown with the white little circle in photo #8 and will have to be welded. Which I did not dare to fix and there are some tiny areas of enamel loss and filigree damage, but you really need to look very carefully to identify the latest. When you unfold the piece you get “blank” areas and you need to manually assist it to get it properly open and same when you fold it back meaning that the system needs some repair or adjustment but nothing is missing. Please see photo #8 and #12 where I marked with a. Circle where you can appreciate the stick which is slightly deformated and about to detach and the little white circle in photo #8 showing the little breakage. The ribbon is not original. The total weight of the piece is 145 grams according to my scale. The item is offered original as is as found without cleaning. Please check out my. 7 1/2″ (19cm) is the height and 13″ (33cm) approximately is the aperture lenght when fully opened/extended. The total weight of the piece is 145 grams. Please look at the 2 dollars note (not included) to compare and get an idea of the size of the item offered. Condition is not the best as observed. One stick is slightly bent, deformated. Rare Early Old Master Portrait Painting Of Philip Melanchthon (1497 1560)

A Particularly Rare and Special 16th Century Portrait of Philip Melanchthon – Oil on Panel. A Very Fine Early Portrait – Circle of Lucas Cranach the Elder (1472 – 1553). Here we have an exceptional and potentially important piece of 16th century portrait history probably painted in about 1550 when Melanchthon was in his fifties and in the twilight of his life – just as Lucas Cranach the Elder was nearing his final few years. There is much documented history surrounding the life of our sitter – wikipedia for one source – which I won’t go into here – but suffice to say that as a friend and collaborator of Martin Luther in what is now Germany he was a founder of Protestantism.. There are quite a few portraits of Melanchthon at varying ages of his life and this particular piece comes with a fair amount of historical detail.. Additionally we have their ubiquitous stencil. The most fascinating aspect though is the letter stuck on the back also mentioning that the work was put through Christies in the late 19th century and was’bought in’…. Christies nowadays only do this with items they KNOW will reach or supercede the reserve (like Lucien Freud or David Hockney). It is a shame that the letter has been partially rubbed away but we can see that the writer – probably the owner – tells us that the Directors of the National Gallery view it as a genuine work from the mid 16th century but we cannot see their EXACT conclusion. It looks like they are guiding us to a mark’ on the right hand side half way up which is the mark of Cranach’…….. I can see no further than what the owner tells us – it was bought from a dealer’Herr Guder’ in 1885 in Nuremburg together with other antiques such as furniture.. The letter is most certainly genuine but some of it is obscured which might have shown us further elements of interest. The painting itself is in extremely well looked after order and the colours are still vibrant… A slight bow in the panel and dead woodworm does not detract from the overall. The frame is later but perfectly matching the ripple moulded gesso frames of the style of the Cranach period. I cannot of course say that this is a long lost Crannach but it is of his age and has validation by Christies and the directors of the National Gallery so it has certain historical merit. I suspect this is from his circle and was a’copy’ by a student of Cranach’s or another budding artist who wanted to emulate his style…. It might even have been his son – Cranach the Younger! We cannot be sure – it is a very old item – but there are tantalizing snippets of provenance which could prove important or possibly not….. An excellent and rare very early portrait of great interest….. Measurements including the frame 20″ x 18″. I hope you will afford me the privilege of taking time to look at my offerings on here. I will not be vague about age or provenance or any later work carried out. I also offer inspection at my home on all pieces with no obligation. EXTREMELY RARE EARLY 16 BEBE JUMEAU ANTIQUE DOLL signed body and shoes

From a private collection, this doll is all original. Stamped “J” on head (see picture). Spiral spring neck attachment and pressed bisque socket head. Blue stamped body: “Jumeau Medaille D’or Paris” (see picture). 8 Ball jointed composition & wood straight wrist body. N very good condition, some signs of wear, slight flaking on one of the thumbs (see pic). Stunning face, blush complexion, beautiful deep blue eyes, pierced ears, closed mouth, blond long curly wig. Blue silk Taffeta dress with grosgrain ribbon & bow on back waist. Pin at neck and 3 buttons down front of bodice. Fixed under-petticoat sewn to dress + 2 cotton petticoats and vest and long bloomers with lace around the bottom. Lace slightly coming away on one leg (see picture). Slight wear / fading on the dress. Hat: same fabric as dress with grosgrain ribbon and brooch at front, and bow on the back. Knitted white cotton socks. Shoes: Original stamped E. Brown leather with rosette on front. Slight wear on back of one shoe. After purchasing, this doll will be professionally packed, tracked and insured. Please look at all photos, this beautiful girl doesnt need to make a long trip just to be rejected again! Please do search other 99 Dep antique dolls! This is a much older version than most listed at this time… The eyebrows and quality of glass eyes give it away! Body also is an older, heavy, good quality ball joint body. This doll stands 27 tall. The back of her neck is marked 99 DEP H 5 ½. She does have a hairline on the back right of her head, shown in the pictures. She has a gorgeous face, multi stroke brows without fading, painted upper and lower lashes, original large glass blue sleep eyes that open and close easily and still have the red on the inner corners. She has an open mouth with great lip color and 4 upper white teeth. Her earring holes have a bit of wear but nothing significant. Her hair is long and light brown, the wig is a Cheveux Naturals Made in France. She has a composition ball jointed body. Most of her fingers and toes feature the red lines. She has ONE finger that appears to have been replaced/repaired (last picture). Body has normal wear and crazing for its age. I dont see any major problems and this holds a pose. Rare Chinese short sword called paidao – China, 2nd half 19th early 20th. Traditionaly this sword was used in combination with a round shield made of rattan. The whole shape and material used make me think it is related to the Southern China, especially the North of Tonkin area. Heavy single edged blade, very thick at the forte. The grip is made of wood.
